Top Tips

Exfoliate, exfoliate…exfolaite!

Exfoliate your skin the day before your spray tan to remove any dead skin cells that your tan may cling to.  Apply a good moisturiser to your body and pay particular attention to your elbows, knees & feet.

No deodorant

Avoid using deodorant before your spray tan appointment as it will provide a barrier to the spray tan’s absorption & may possibly turn green!

Do not moisturise on the day of your appointment

Do not apply any moisturiser on the day of your spray tan as it will act as a barrier and interrupt  the absorption of the spray tan.

Get rid of any unwanted hair

Where possible, always carry out any hair removal at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment.  Waxing and shaving after your spray tan will remove your tan.

Wear loose, dark clothing

Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment.  This will prevent tight clothing rubbing your skin and removing your tan.  Some clients come along in their pyjamas & flip flops to make sure their tan is perfect.

It’s time to skip the gym

It’s best to avoid activities that may cause you to sweat within the first few days of having your spray tan.  This will prolong the life of your tan on your skin.

Avoid hot baths or swimming pools

We understand that some clients like to get a spray tan for going on holiday.  This is perfect for making you feel fantastic on the first few days of your holiday, while you catch some natural sun on your skin.  However, we would recommend that you avoid any activities that would naturally exfoliate your skin such as long hot baths or chlorinated swimming pools.

Sleep in your tan

Dark bedding at home is ideal as we recommend ‘sleeping’ in your tan while it develops then showering in the morning.

Lots of moisturiser

Keep your skin as moisturised as possible after your spray tan to increase the longevity of your tan and help you to avoid the tan wearing off in patches due to dry skin.

Have fun!

We regularly hear clients say that they would never book for a spray tan as they couldn’t ‘bare all’ in the treatment room.  All of our therapists are expertly trained to tan you quickly and efficiently so that you feel as comfortable as you can during your treatment.  They all regularly get spray tans so they know what it feels like to stand in the booth almost naked!  Trust us…..it’s super quick and totally worth it!

Just go for it and have fun!
